So Serious

I haven't been to my blog for awhile. At first glance, it all looks so serious. I'm not always so serious, honestly. I'll try to post something a little more fun when I get a chance. Right now my son is "Nya nya nay-ing" his sister, so now is not the time. I do have some fun pictures on my other blog. I think you can find my other blog by looking at my profile. I'll have to post something soon about my music classes that I teach at a private school. I love teaching, and it works out great because my kids who don't attend school can come with me. I better sign out now before someone's fingers get caught in the door.

Candy Safety

Watch out for Halloween candy that might contain melamine. It seems that all the major chocolate manufacturers, including Mars, Nestle, and Hershey's are under fire for possible melamine contamination. Babies have died and many others have been sickened because melamine was added to the milk powder used to make infant formula. Melamine was added to the powder, so the manufacturers could claim a greater protein value on the label. This same milk powder is used to make chocolate. This is not a hoax. It is being reported in major newspapers and verified as true by snopes.com. Wikipedia has a good description of melamine. Maybe there isn't enough melamine in the candy to cause harm, but I sure don't want to take that risk. I really dislike our food supply system. Buying locally grown food makes more and more sense all the time.

The Instruction

Oprah has a webcast interview with Ainslie MacLeod. He is the author of "The Instruction." I love the way he talks about spirituality. He discusses levels of spirituality that resonate with me. I have always known that while Jordan may appear to be behind others in his physical development, he is actually the most spiritually evolved person I have ever known. In that I am including all religious leaders, authors of great literature, composers of great music, and painters of masterpieces. All of the great creators of the world have attempted to capture the magic of life that Jordan already knows and understands. According to MacLeod's levels, Jordan is definitely at the top at a level 10. The level 10 description in the webcast is the most perfect description of Jordan. Having Jordan in my life has changed me, and I look to him as my spiritual teacher. It's nice to find someone who can put what I feel into words.

Cell Phones

The cancer institute has issued a warning regarding the use of cell phones. Included in the article is a diagram showing the estimated penetration of electromagnetic radiation from a cell phone based on age. Basically, the younger you are, the more dangerous cell phone usage is. I do like to have a cell phone for safety and convenience when I'm out, but I don't make long phone calls on it.
